how I found my sense of style.

the beauty of fashion? nothing you do is technically "wrong". everyone has their own style, and mine has certainly changed over time. here's how I find inspiration!

BUY A TON OF MAGAZINES.

there's no better way to learn about clothing than editorials in fashion magazines. my favorite, by far, would have to be Vogue Paris.

START AN INSPIRATION BOARD.

while you could start one online on websites like Pinterest, I find having a physical board hanging up in your room is the best way to get a visual. print everything out that inspires you, and pin it. colors, tones, and textures are key points.

WRITE A CLOTHING SHOPPING LIST.

see an amazing red blouse in a street style photo? start a shopping "grocery list"! it's a great way to not forget what you wanted in your closet - not the smartest idea if you're trying to save money (trust me). set up categories, like accessories, tops, skirts, etc. to organize it.

DO YOUR RESEARCH ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

Twitter is my favorite way to get updates on everything. the "high fashion community" has great accounts that constantly post runway photos, editorials, and inspiration. not to mention, I've met a lot of great friends through it.

thank you so much for reading! if you had to describe your style, what would it be?

  1. These are great ideas! I personally love looking at what others are wearing and picking out the things I like. Mood boards are also a great idea!
